Generally speaking, at the date of publishing this (26th Apr 2011) it is not planned that there will be that many fundraising events during 2011. This is because the Stamford Skatepark Committee are currently focussing on applying for the grants needed to help us reach our target.
The reason is that this is a time consuming process (both writing the grant applications and waiting for responses), so if you have any fundraising ideas of your own please contact:
Marc on 07739 040 248
There may well be a few things going off every now & then though so please keep an eye on this website & our Facebook page, just in case!
Thank you
We were going to go backpacking but figured we'd be able to raise more money if we went to Morrissons and did bag packing instead...

See you all down the Rec next Friday:

UPDATED 1st September 2010:
It's good news week! Stamford Town Council have given us the much needed, long-awaited written permission to build the replacement skatepark on Stamford's Recreation Ground. Waiting for this has been holding us up on pretty much every front so this is very, very good news.
Thank you Stamford Town Council for your support.
What else has been happening since we last updated this site? Well, after seeing how popular the ESD was (see below) we've sorted out a free trip to Corby's Adrenaline Alley for some of you. See the 'Event's page or our Facebook group page for more details.

Well, here we are. Another school holiday and still no skatepark for you.....
But just to show you we're still working hard to get you one (& we're getting closer & closer with every passing day), we've arranged for NK Extreme to bring their temporary ramps to the Rec from 11:00 'til 15:00 on Friday 29th Oct.
It's open to absolutely anyone & everyone & is COMPLETELY FREE to use!! All you need is a signed consent form. If you're under 16 this needs to be signed by a parent/guardian. 16s & over can sign their own.
You can get these forms from J&L Ball, curtains & blinds shop on North St, Stamford or from Teenzone on Green Lane.
Here's hoping for sunshine ;-)

Coz we know you haven't had anywhere decent to skate recently, and coz we're kind people, we're gonna pay for some of you to go to Europe's finest indoor skatepark, Adrenaline Alley, Corby!!
Remember how Team Extreme forgot to bring any copings when they came up in June?? Well, they gave us a bit of a discount for this epic fail which means that we can afford to pay for this for you plus for the coach to get y'all over there. Good innit?
The coach will leave from North St car park at 08:00 on Sat 11th Sept & will be back there for approx 13:30.
Now, I don't wanna start throwing rules at you but we've got a couple of, let's call 'em guidelines, that we've got to stick to:
1. You have to complete an application form in advance. You can get these from J&L Ball's shop on North St, Stamford.
2. You will need to pay a £5 FULLY REFUNDABLE deposit when you hand the completed form back in at the shop.
3. Like I say, it's FREE so you will get the FULL £5 back when you turn up at the coach on the day.
4. The coach will only hold 25 and these are only open to 9 to 16 yr olds.
5. There is room for just 4 more of any age group but you will have to make your own way there & back
This trip is being run with the generous help of Teenzone & their youthworkers are fully CRB checked.
More details are available from J&L Ball's shop or by contacting us:

This one isn't strictly one of our events but it is being organised by one of the many hard working, local fundraising organisations that have genererously pledged their support to the Stamford Skatepark: The Rotary Club of Stamford St Martins.

We're planning a big urban sports event this summer. Kinda like Stamford's very own X-Games but open to EVERYONE and COMPLETELY FREE!
This event would not be possible if it wasn't for the extremely generous support of the following local businesses:
J&L Ball Interiors
Dawson of Stamford
Voujon
Mama Liz's Soul Food Shack
Cummins Generator Technologies
Paul Johnson Property Consultants
Watson Mitchell Blackburn Property Management
UK Printwear
Rutland Cycles
Stamford Living
Professional extreme events team, Team Extreme, will be bringing their own portable (but big!) skatepark to do their own demos on plus allow you all to use it in between They will also offer coaching to the newbies and those looking to improve (aren't we all?).
I guess we just want to give you somewhere decent locally to skate/ride for a day to help you remember how good the old skatepark used to be and to make you realise how good a new permanent skatepark will be. Plus we want you all to know that we haven't forgotten about you. Ahhhh, int that nice of us?
See the link below for the kind of thing we're talking about and let us know what you think via the forum:
On Sunday 14th Feb, Stamford Striders will be hosting the 17th St Valentine's Day 30k Running Race.
750 runners, from across the nation, will set off from the Queen Eleanor School in Stamford at 11.00. First runners are expected back at the finish on the QE sports field at 12.40, with the back of the pack coming in up to 15.00.
The race raises money for charity, with this year's beneficiaries being the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance and the Stamford Skatepark Appeal.

Anyone fancy a good ol' fashioned night of thigh-slappin, lederhsen-clad boozin' and dodgy dancin'??...
